What do I do?

Manual

therapy

Manual therapy is a specialized form of physiotherapy that focuses on treating joint and muscle problems through specific movements or mobilizations of joints and tissues. This can help restore normal joint function, reduce muscle tension, and improve overall mobility. Manual therapy is often used for complaints such as neck and back pain.

Dry

needling

Dry needling is a treatment method used to relieve muscle pain and muscle knots. It involves inserting a thin needle into tense muscles or trigger points (specific painful spots in the muscles) to reduce tension and relieve pain. The needle directly stimulates the muscle fibers, which can help improve blood circulation, relax the muscle, and reduce muscle tension.

Sports

rehabilitation

Sports rehabilitation focuses on various types of injuries, including sprains, strains, and overuse injuries. A key aspect is the targeted restoration of the specific movement pattern required for the sport practiced by the patient so that he or she can perform at their peak again. The ultimate goal of sports rehabilitation is to return the athlete not only pain-free but also stronger and better prepared for future physical challenges, minimizing the risk of relapse.

Orthopedic

rehabilitation

Orthopedic rehabilitation includes a specialized treatment plan aimed at restoring physical functions of joints, muscles, or bones after orthopedic surgery or conditions, such as fractures, prostheses, etc.

Cervicogenic

headache

My special interest lies in the treatment of headaches that originate from the structures of the neck, such as the joints, muscles, or nerves. The pain is felt in the head but is caused by problems in the neck. Characteristics of cervicogenic headaches often include occipital pain or unilateral pain that can radiate to the forehead, temple, or around the eye. These problems often arise from poor posture (e.g., screen work) or trauma such as whiplash. Treatment often consists of manual therapy and posture correction.

Who am I?

I am Judith De Backer, the founder of kine mobiliz. In 2018, I earned my Master's degree in physiotherapy at UGent, and in 2019, I obtained my manual therapy diploma at UGent. Additionally, I completed a dry needling course at the Trigger training institute.

After my studies, I gained 6 years of experience in a private practice in Ghent. Following this, I decided to pursue my dream and founded my own practice.

Through my education and years in the field, I have discovered the value of a personal and tailored approach to care. I strongly believe in the importance of listening to my patients and working with them to develop a treatment plan that focuses not only on recovery but also on the prevention of future complaints.

During my treatments, I switch between various techniques and therapies: from manual therapy or dry needling to exercise therapy, depending on what is best for you.

I find great satisfaction in motivating and supporting my patients during their rehabilitation and look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
